Real Estate Equities Group, LLC, founded in the 1980’s, is an active buyer of multi-family and commercial real estate as well as a direct private lender.
The organization was founded by principals, Howard Kent and Gregory Van Cleef. Howard and Gregory have been partners and active in the real estate investment and management business for over 40 years.
In 1999, the second generation joined the firm. Adam Kent and Greg Van Cleef now serve as Principals and run day-to-day operations. They are responsible for acquisitions, property management, brokerage and private lending services. In 2008, Mike Van Cleef took an active role in our management and brokerage subsidiary and now serves as our Director of Property Management.
Our property management subsidiary, Real Estate Management Group, LLC currently manages 1,000 residential units and 500,000 square feet of commercial properties for entities in which we are principals as well as unaffiliated third parties. Our current portfolio has a gross asset value in excess of $250 million.
Snowpoint Capital Management, LLC, our private lending affiliate, manages the Snowpoint Capital Income Fund, LLC and Snowpoint Capital REIT, Inc. Snowpoint implements short-term capital solutions for commercial and investment opportunities for those not efficiently served by the traditional debt markets.

From June 1975 to late 1978, Mr. Kent was an officer and principal stockholder of Asset Management and Service Corp., served as a corporate general partner for several limited partnerships and provided direct and supervisory management for approximately 2,000 apartment units in the New York and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas. In addition, he served as an individual general partner in several real estate partnerships.
From September 1970 to June 1975, he was employed by a publicly owned real estate firm, ultimately serving as manager of accounting and an auditor for a national accounting firm.
Mr. Kent is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA). He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Malvern Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:MLVF). He serves on the Board of Vantage Health Systems, and the American Jewish Committee of Palm Beach County. He formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of American Investment Services, Inc., an SEC registered investment advisor with approximately $700 million in assets under management.
Mr. Kent received his bachelor of science degree in accounting and business administration in 1969 from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Previously, he served as a public accountant for Malesardi, Quackenbush & Swift & Company. In 1971, in addition to his accounting responsibilities, he began to manage the real estate portfolio for the partners of the firm and was given sole responsibility for ten apartment communities totaling over 600 units and a 27,000-square-foot office building. At that time, he also formed Aster Development Corporation which built several single-family homes in Bergen and Hunterdon Counties.
Mr. Van Cleef is a licensed real estate salesperson in New Jersey and is a former member of the Rent Leveling Board of Palisades Park. He received his bachelor of science degree in accounting and business administration in 1969 from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Adam J. Kent has been active in the real estate investments, management and finance business for over 20 years. He currently serves as a Principal at Real Estate Equities Group, LLC and Real Estate Management Group, LLC, responsible for overseeing all acquisitions, dispositions and financing activity for the firm.
Mr. Kent also currently serves as a Principal of East Hill Realty, LLC, a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Snowpoint Capital Management, LLC, a direct private commercial lender, which manages the Snowpoint Capital Income Fund, LLC and Snowpoint Capital REIT, Inc. Prior to joining Snowpoint, he was active in the private lending business as a Principal of Bridge Realty Capital, LLC which he established in 2010.
From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Kent was a Senior Associate in the Real Estate Advisory practice at KPMG, LLP in New York, where he performed due diligence in the acquisition and financing of over $1 billion in institutional real estate transactions.
Prior to KPMG, Mr. Kent was an Assistant Treasurer in the Private Banking Division at The Bank of New York. Focusing solely on real estate clients, he was responsible for structuring and underwriting credit facilities for real estate owners and developers in the New York metropolitan area. During his tenure, he completed a nine-month intensive credit training program that focused on financial accounting and financial statement analysis.
Mr. Kent is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in New York and New Jersey. He previously served on the Advisory Board of both Union Center National Bank (acquired by ConnectOne Bank in 2014) and Lakeland Bank as well as the Board of Directors of the Englewood (NJ) Chamber of Commerce.
In 1996, Mr. Kent received a Bachelor of Science in Management degree in Finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.

Greg Van Cleef has been active in the real estate business for over twenty years. He was the director of management for Real Estate Equities Group, LLC since 1999 and currently serves as a Principal responsible for overall day-to-day operations of the firm. Other responsibilities include the evaluation of all hospitality transactions (both acquisition and financing) presented to the firm.
Mr. Van Cleef is also a principal and co-founder of East Hill Realty, LLC.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Van Cleef was part of the management team of two full- service hotels in New Jersey and Connecticut. Responsibilities included financial forecasting, budgeting and directing day-to-day operations.
Mr. Van Cleef received a bachelor of science degree in hospitality management in 1996 from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Mike Van Cleef has been active in the real estate business for over ten years. He currently serves as the Director of Property Management for Real Estate Equities Group, LLC responsible for acquisition due diligence, budgeting, maintenance, vendor and tenant relations. Mr. Van Cleef, serves as the firms representative on the Board of Directors of three condominium and cooperative associations in which principals of the firm own units.
He is also a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New Jersey.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Van Cleef was partner at five restaurants, located in Nevada and New Jersey, overseeing the budgeting and accounting functions.
In 2008, Mr. Van Cleef received a bachelors of science degree in accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
